[5.75/10] The Book of Henry (2017)

The Book of Henry (2017)

Quick Review: Way too grim to be enjoyable, yet too manipulative to be genuinely emotional, "The Book of Henry"'s drastic tonal shifts surely won't be everyone's cup of tea, but on the other hand, each three of its distinctive parts kind of works on its own -- the first one is offbeat, the second one is devastating, and the third one is suspenseful. The acting is excellent, with Naomi Watts nailing her part as the troubled mother of two, besides, the film's peculiar feel suits its moody essence.
